The dishonest act — real names Anthony Mc rtlin and Declan Donnelly, both 40 — direct two of the channel’s most popular programmes; I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and Britain’s Got Flair, as well as Saturday Night Takeaway.
Their contract with the ditch recently expired, but negotiations for a new deal are thought to have added £5 million to their shared value, correspondence to The Mirror.
Ant told the news per at the TV Choice Awards that they are hoping to get the whole shooting match finalised by the time they head to Australia for I’m A Celeb next month.
“Let’s be trustworthy, it is close,” he said. “We have had people come and discuss stuff with us but we delight in ITV and all the programmes we make there and they want us to stay.
“Before we go to Oz we prerequisite to sort it out, yeah.”
Dec added: “We are not on the dotted line yet but we want to stay and they scantiness us to stay. It is just ironing out all the bits and bobs.
“It will have to be signed before we go to Oz because then we will be at the end of the year and we are fairly close.”
There had in days of old been rumours that the Geordie hosts could defect to Netflix or Amazon for new plunges, and also that they could embark on a theatre tour or type another movie.
“The whole Netflix/Amazon thing, theatre shift and other stuff are not necessarily for right now. It is still being talked close by but is hopefully in the short to medium term,” Dec explained.
Ant also hinted at ap l over Brexit, saying he wants to punish those who led the Leave push by putting them in the jungle.
“Let’s put a couple of those politicians in there who talked us out of Europe and then evanesced,” he quipped. “Lets put them in. I am annoyed that everyone responsible for pick up us here has gone.”
