Alberta government to lay out new rules for large greenhouse gas emitters


Alberta Milieu Minister Shannon Phillips is announcing new rules for large industrial greenhouse gas emitters in Calgary on Wednesday.

Details of the new rules come one day after a surety by the Alberta government to invest $1.4 billion to drive innovation, shoe the energy industry and diversify economy.

Part of the plan involves lay out  $240 million on energy-efficiency projects in large-scale industrial, agricultural and originating operations.

Another $225 million will be aimed at driving alterations that reduce greenhouse gas emissions across a wider range of manufactures.
