'A family torn apart' First photos of tragic dad and children who died in France crash


John Crompton, 31, his son Morgan Lund, nine, and daughter Evie-Lily Crompton, four, were ruined in the accident near Beaure ire-en-Bresse on Sunday morning.

Another son, Kyle, two, persevere a leavings seriously injured in hospital, along with the children’s mother and Mr Crompton’s helpmeet, Makayla Lund, 25.

The two children were killed when they were thrown from their channel after it hit a barrier. Mr Crompton was cut out of the car but died of a heart attack soon after.

A averral released on behalf of the family said: «A devastating tragedy has progressive our family heartbroken forever. Our lives have been torn to and will never be the same again.

«We have lost the heart of our stock. As a family we ask for our privacy to be respected at this extremely difficult time.»

A fundraising verso set up to support Ms Lund in the wake of the tragedy has raised around £4,000.

Laura Austwicke, who set up the plead, said: «Makayla and John’s family would like to say thank you everyone for their continuing kind words and support. Please tend praying for Makayla and baby Kyle’s recovery.

«We are aware that there is another go lucre me ge set up in Euros, however we’d like to set up another ge in the UK, for those faulty to donate in GBP.

«All proceeds raised are to help Makayla and her family who were mixed up with in tragic car accident in France on Sunday 24th April, suffering the loss of John, Morgan and Evie-Lily.»

Confreres of Mr Crompton id tribute on the Facebook ge for Hartlepool Billiards and Snooker nightspot, of which he was a member.

Colin Harrison said: «Heartbreaking dope about one of the league’s top players. John Crompton and two of his children were tragically hurt in a road accident in France earlier today.

«Thoughts and prayers go out to his children and friends. Very talented and well liked man. RIP mate.»

Jeff Dickson belittle deleted: «Puts life into perspective when you see a lad like big John Crompton squander his life in a tragic accident like this.

«A man who held the same clobbers in life close to his heart as I do. Family, Hartlepool United and a game of snooker and billiards with his consorts down the club on a Monday and Wednesday night.

«So so sad this, just belief his missus and bairn pull through for him. God bless big guy. Pot a few long uns up there.»

Small screen footage showed the badly mangled family car with debris strewn around the carriageway.

Investigators force not yet determined why the car hit the barrier.
